We’ll situated in Athens with 15 minute stroll to the Acropolis and short walk to Constitution Square. Excellent hotel with great comfortable rooms and a superb rooftop bar and cafe with great views of the Parthenon.. Above all, fantastic friendly staff! An absolute must for staying in the centre.
As we booked superior room, we got an welcome drink voucher for the bar on the hotels rooftop. View was amazing, staff there extremely friendly, caring and polite. Unfortunately when we wanted to charge to our room's account, system did not provide them to book any tip that was real pity as they really deserved!
Pros. The Plaka Hotel is the best place to stay in Athens. It is centrally located and has a spectacular view of the Acropolis from the rooftop patio. It is close walking distance to the major tourist sites, shops and restaurants. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and have air conditioning. Breakfast is a must do in the morning. While enjoying your delicious breakfast, you can get friendly information and advice from your hostess. First week of May is a perfect time to visit Athens. Temperature is around 24C to 27C. Visit the National Archaeological Museum (10 Euros) and Athens Academy of Arts if you like to take pictures of statues. Laundry service is also available.
Pros. This is a respectable hotel, that gives good basic services to it's guests. It's overall advantage is it's location. Stay at Plaka Hotel and all of Athens is easily available to you.
Cons. I have nothing to complain about.
Pros. The friendliness of the staff and how helpful they were all the time; they gave us tips to move around and help us to keep our luggage even when we've already checked out. The hotel is well located with many important places (most-visited historic attractions) at walking distance; also great was having a convenient small market next door where we could get fruits, beverages, baked goods, etc. The breakfast were very good, as well as the views from the roof lounge.
Cons. The maze of streets – if you're driving a car there, it is hard to park and easy to get lost in the many one-direction streets.
