Only one agent at the airport, extreme long wait time to pick up the car. Took about 1 hour, only 5 group ahead of us. Also our car tire leaked, at drop off time, since there is no agent, we couldn’t pass on that info, so next customer will suffer the same car problem

When we picked up the car in Brunswick, we found out that there was no drop box in New Bern Airport NC accessible after 10 PM. Since we had plan to return the car after that time, that forced us to change our travel plans. I really think that these type of restrictions should clearly be stated out at the time of booking so the client knows and can reorganise ahead of time. Very friendly and helpfull personnel in Brunswick.

I booked my car for 48 hours, but when I tried to drop it off after 47 hours, I learned the drop off location had closed 30 minutes earlier. Because the location was closed at the expiration time of my reservation, they charged me an extra day It would have been nice, when I picked up the car, if they had pointed out that the return location was going to be closed at 5pm on Saturday, as I could have easily been there by the 4pm closing time.

Pick up was painful! Waited over 45 minutes to get to the agent. She was nice enough but then gave me a car that was too big and I took it because I just wanted to get out of there… as I was about to drive out I wanted a smaller car so I had to go back inside (and wait) for the car I originally wanted

Car was dirty from the outside. Service was poor...the agency sent incorrect invoice indicating and charging for 7 gallons of fuel when car was returned with full tank. Either agency is incompetent or too lazy to check vehicle fuel gauge.

The booking you gave me was not in the airport and the pickup time approved and suggested by your booking service was when the Hertz location was closed so I was unable to pick up the reserved vehicle. The entire reason for booking in advance is to ensure I can trust I have a vehicle when I arrive. All of that was lost completely. I lack words to express my disappointment

I was misled by the person who served me. At first she told me she had no vehicles available. Seeing that I had to drive quite far, he told me that he only had electric vehicles. When I told him that it could not be that, he told me that by paying more he could offer me a gasoline one. That's not how things are done, in the end I paid the extra for the necessity and urgency, but never again.

Bald tires and less than half tank of gas. With snow and ice on the road, we could not wait to turn in this death trap. Poorly maintained and dirty.

Better signage when returning rental, it gets difficult to read when trying to drive and read with others trying to return and figure out what road and ramp to take to return garage

Our pickup experience was horrible!! At first, the man I spoke with was very nice and picking up the car was easy. I installed the car seat (ridiculous they charge for these, they are legally required for safety) and went to pick up my husband and son at our hotel. When we tried to get my son in the seat, we realized the straps would not tighten properly on the seat. The drivers seat was also too high to the ceiling for my torso height causing my view of the road to be blocked by the rear view mirror. We returned to the rental counter to get a new car seat and swap vehicles. It was 10:05 am or so at this point. We did not get on the road until 11:30AM due to so much back and forth trying to do a simple car seat and vehicle swap. We were repeatedly told to go to the wrong area for assistance, and had to drive through the Boston airport property each time to get there only to be told nobody could help us. It was extremely frustrating and delayed our trip by hours. Our poor toddler was stuck in his car seat for way more time than necessary as a result. Horrible experience.

We rented a compact SUV to be picked up on Friday at 7PM. We arrived to the rental car center to find no lines at all other vendors and a line of what had to be 100 people waiting for cars at Thrifty. There was one poor employee that looked like he was going to cry. The line was long because they had no cars. We received no notification that there were no cars. We were driving at least two hours north to New Hampshire so we made a whole new reservation with Avis. I have been told I can submit that reservation to make up for the difference in price for the purchase at Thrifty. How is this ok when they were significantly overbooked and had no product?! Will never book this way again.

I don't enjoy booking a car by entering my information and credit card online, then getting a text message to filll out more info, take photos of my license, sign, so I can expedite pickup. Then I still have to go to a counter and do all that again. 3 times. Book online, walk to a car and get in. So easy. But no. And I was a given a much smaller car then I anticipated. You have too many classifications of cars that are not clearly delineated when booking. I'll be going with Hertz next time even if they cost more.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
