7.2 Good
Pros:Staff did their best, and were pleasant.
Cons:They are always having trouble with the computers being slow or frozen.
A
5.2 Fair
Pros:The staff were friendly and helpful-we had no problems with them. The car, a Toyota Corolla was great. It was easy to get to from Manhattan and had cars available.
Cons:The price quoted is a bare minimum price. What was supposed to be $560 ended up being $919. Some of it was insurance but none of that was transparent on the website. We were also told that if we wanted to use the EZ pass that is in the car (not our own) there was a mandatory fee of $139 to use it. We've rented from Avis and Enterprise and we never had to pay just to use the EZ pass, before the tolls. Then we were told since we did not want to pay that amount, that we get charged either $15 or $30 by EZ Pass itself every time we go through a toll-that is in addition to the toll itself. We were also charged for an additional driver each day, even though that person is my husband. We have not been charged at other rental companies for that, specifically because the other person is a spouse.

4.0 Mediocre
Pros:Drop off was easy.
Cons:The car was filthy, clearly had not been vacuumed or wiped down on the interior. The EZPass didn’t work (when we arrived in DC the attendant told us that the Manhattan location where we picked up the vehicle always messes up the EZPass). Also we reserved a mid size compact (Ford Fusion) and we’re given a Ford Fiesta and did not get any money back. It was also very uncomfortable. We also had to wait a really long time after checking in with the front desk to get the car because it was being washed, but it clearly had just been sprayed with water and was not clean on the inside or the outside.

2.0 Poor
Pros:It seemed like a good price at first.
Cons:The whole process was horrible from pickup to dropoff. When trying to pick up our car the woman helping us convinced us the car wasn't big enough for our two bags even though we specifically picked one that said it could fit 3 large suitcases. After pressuring us into upgrading we just wanted to move on with our day so we obliged... after seeing the nearly empty parking lot I'm sure we would have gotten the same car if we had upgraded or not. After getting a few blocks I noticed that there was an alert that the tire pressure was low as soon as we picked it up so I don't think anyone even gave it a once over. We had a long drive ahead so I just hoped for the best. The return process was a disaster. Hardly any instructions on how to return and once we arrived to the Atlanta airport, they gave us the incorrect address for where to return the car. We spent at least an extra 30 minutes driving in circles looking for where to return. The Thrifty area was shut down and there was a small sign directing us to take Thrifty cars to the Hertz area. Once inside the Hertz deck, there was zero signage and not a single person to help. We called customer service and they were completely clueless and didn't even know the address for drop off had changed. There was one man working the exit so he rudely told us we were in the right place "didn't you see the sign?" (again, one small sign saying Thifty with an arrow, and zero signage in the deck). At this point we were still on the phone with the customer service who was telling us to park and leave our keys in a dropbox. There was no dropbox so we left the keys on the dash per the signs by Hertz, and the CS agent told us we were all good to go and someone would check the car in the morning. Cut to a week later and we were never emailed a bill. I checked online and Thrifty charged us for an extra day and noted that we returned the car a day late even though we left it in the garage per the customer service agent's guidance the night before. I'm still dealing with trying to get refunded for the extra day and it's obvious Thrifty is a shady business with some of the worst customer service. I guess the cheap price was too good to be true.
