Liked the easy pickup process in Boston and the Nissan rogue had all the options like heated seats, steering wheel, full sunroof and all the driver assist technologies. The only knock is that the rogue was pretty beat up all the way around. Scratches, dents, trim I clipped, etc. No real big deal for us but she looked kinda haggard. On day two the rogue’s air conditioning died. We went to the Budget rental counter at the Bangor Maine airport and they swapped us for a loaded Jeep Grand Cherokee with no hassle in all of 15 minutes. That event earned huge brownie points for Budget in my book. If I had to pick on something it would be that the Jeep reeked of cigarette smoke so we immediately went to Walmart for a pack of liquid air vent fresheners that helped a lot.

Pick up was efficient , car was great. Lot easy to navigate. The drop off went smoothly they only issue was getting my emailed receipt, this has been a problem several times when I have rented from budget. , I have had to call and they always say they don’t have my email address which is a lie since they send me emails ALL THE TIME. And the staff can’t answer why this keeps happening and can’t transfer me to anyone who can tell my why it happening because apparently I’m the only one who has this problem (I asked them that specifically)

Staff were professional, pick up and drop off easy. Price? Awful. I felt like I was " nickel and dimed" with fees that weren't on the web page, such as$10 per day for a gas car, $10 plus toll for every day I used a toll road and the ez pass. Bill was almost $800 for 6 days. Hertz is now my last choice.

Customer service at location was poor. And it’s taken over a week and a half and I haven’t received my deposit back yet, and I haven’t been notified of any issues with the vehicle.

It was HORRIBLE and TIME-CONSUMING! We didn't notice that the car we rented was to be picked up at your location in downtown Denver; after first stopping at the Denver airport Hertz, your agent told us to go downtown Denver to pick it up. We waited 20 minutes for the train that took 30 minutes to go from the airport to downtown Denver, then Uber to your downtown location, which closes at 5 p.m. on Friday, and we finally got there at 6 p.m.! Therefore, we called, and you canceled it. Thank you. BUT, we WASTED A LOT OF OUR SHORT VISITING TIME WITH OUR FAMILY, CHASING DOWN OUR RENTAL, WHICH WE ULTIMATELY COULD NOT GET! Subsequently, we rented from another company. On the positive side, the Hertz representative whom we spoke to about this fiasco was very understanding, and, as I said, she canceled the reservation. Technically, this was our fault. I'm an old man and don't travel much now.

The car had a strong vibration throughout the drive tha.There was clearly a lack of cleaning.. there is a sticky substance around the gearshift. I use the supplied cleaning, wipe wipe to clean .

Pros:

Pickup and dropoff were a breeze

Cons:

Car was filthy, but I rented at the last minute so maybe there was no time to clean? Windows had paint pen on them, windshield had tape on it like it had just been replaced, interior hadn't been cleaned and there might have been mustard on the steering wheel!
