FAQs - booking El Salvador flights

  • Do flights from Boston to El Salvador include my frequent flyer program’s airline?

If you want to make sure you can add miles to your frequent flyer account when you fly to El Salvador, you can use KAYAK’s Alliances filter. So if you are a member of United Airlines’ MileagePlus, you can set the Alliance filter to Star Alliance to see flights with partner airlines, such as Copa Airlines.

  • Can I bring my dog with me on my flight to El Salvador from Boston?

Many airlines allow pets in the cabin, but you should check with the airline about conditions and fees. For example, Avianca allows passengers to bring one cat or dog onboard, if the pet is over four months old, weighs less than 22 lbs., and is kept in a carrier that can fit under the seat in front of you, among other restrictions.

  • How many bags can I bring with me aboard my flight to El Salvador?

The luggage icons on your KAYAK search should tell you what is included in your fare. Usually, Delta tickets each include a personal item and a carry-on. Typically, a personal item is a purse or small backpack that fits in the seat in front of you, and a carry-on is a bag that can fit in the overhead bin and is no bigger than 22 x 14 x 9 inches.

  • Will I need to go through the check-in process again if I have a layover between Boston and El Salvador?

You may see a flight you like that has one or more stops showing red triangles by the stopover cities in your KAYAK results. This indicates a self-transfer, meaning you may be required to check in again during a layover, such as with some Spirit flights connecting with Avianca in Miami. To avoid this, you can use KAYAK’s Flight filter to filter these out.

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights from Boston to El Salvador?

KAYAK is a travel search engine. That means we look across the web to find the best prices we can find for our users. With over 2 billion flight queries processed yearly, we are able to display a variety of prices and options on flights from Boston to El Salvador.

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket from Boston to El Salvador?

KAYAK’s flight Price Forecast tool uses historical data to determine whether the price for a flight to El Salvador from Boston is likely to change within 7 days, so travelers know whether to wait or book now.

  • What is the Hacker Fare option on flights from Boston to El Salvador?

Hacker Fares allow you to combine one-way tickets in order to save you money over a traditional round-trip ticket. You could then fly to El Salvador with an airline and back to Boston with another airline.

  • What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from Boston to El Salvador?

Sometimes travel dates aren't set in stone. If your preferred travel dates have some wiggle room, flexible dates will show you all the options when flying to El Salvador from Boston up to 3 days before/after your preferred dates. You can then pick the flights that suit you best.

Flight was 3 hours late so only had an OK experience

It was very cold because the air conditioner was on high power, and my son got sick.

3 hours late and all they have is was a $12 meal voucher. That’s not even enough to cover fast food.

Among the poorest flights I’ve had with Delta in a while. Entertainment system failed completely on a 7.5 hr flight. Crew seemed distracted and not the normal friendly crew. Flight overbooked it seemed… very crowded.

If I can, I always fly Delta. I’ve found their service to always be reliable and pleasant.

You could have not cancelled the flight (AA, which I will be flying from now on) left for BOS despite the fictitious weather issues (that no one in my Boston family could see). You could have rebooked my direct flight to another direct flight instead of sending me though JFK, the worst US airport after O’Hara You could have rebooked me on a Main Cabin seat (like the one I paid for in my original ticket instead of putting me a the last row on JFK->BOS leg, pocketing the difference in ticket price But I do not really care whether you will ever do that in a future because in a future neither I nor anyone from my company (unless they pay out of pocket) nor an of my clients and partners (if they heed my advice) will ever be caught dead on any of Delta flights

Really bad baggage handling. Had my Rimowa bag badly damaged at the latches.

It was pretty good I was worried with the short Layover that I might not catch my connection but the gate was there

It was good until there was a 3 hour delay because there was not any pilots to fly the plane.

There was plenty of overhead room but half of the passengers were told they had to check their carryon bags. My partner and I checked in as early as possible and our seats were split across the aisle.

Ok, but these people don’t give you nothing no snack no water

No water for a 5 hour flight entertainment not working seats with little room for knees when person in front of me reclined kept bumping my knees.

I don't think anyone actually reads these comments, so I won't spend much time on this submission. If you want to talk, you know how to reach me. The D/FW manager of Avianca (self-identified), Juan Calderon, insisted I buy an onward ticket from San Salvador even though I have diplomatic status in El Salvador and live here. It cost me $1,393 and Mr Calderon would not let me make the ticked flexible so I could get a refund. He went out of his way to be rude to me. He gave me seat 32K -- windowless window seat in the last row and did not offer to let me upgrade even though there were plenty of seats. I have flown well over a million miles in my life and this is the worst experience I have ever had. I would like a refund on the ticket I was forced to buy. Just awful!

This is the Spirit of Latino travel. And don’t even get me started on customer service.

Awful. I checked in online and there was no option to pay for baggage, at the airport when I checked in my baggage was received and Iwas not charged. When I got to LA during the boarding process I was told I didn't pay for baggage, the crew resolved I was let in the plane. When I got to my final destination my baggage was not there. It took me two days to receive my baggage. Bad service ever!

There was no food or drink service, couldn’t even get a glass of water for free. It was a long and expensive flight to not offer food or beverage on the plane.

It is better at the jfk than my home country. It was very easy and everything was on time.

There is no food. There is no in-inflight entertainment. The seats are cardboard. The airline is a living hellscape.

My experience was amazing! They helped my elderly mother board on early through a wheelchair and were accommodating to have us sit together since our seats were in different locations. When landing at the airport in GUA they were very helpful with full of hospitality.

They could offer food and drink without having to pay extra for it,

Was 4 1/2 hours delayed. No food options, poor entertainment and cramped seats made worse by people in front reclining while we could not as in back row.

The baggage handlers broke the handle on my bag that they put under the plane that I checked on the jetway. They traded it out for a less quality bag in Tulsa. But, they said they would try to fix it. Bologna! There was no fixing that bag handle. Someone didn’t care how they treated the bag.

Frankfurt airport is the worst. Passengers are forced to use stairs to get to the terminal or catch a shuttle. Very inconvenient for passengers who are ambulatory challenged or have physical handicaps.

The entertainment wasn’t playing in the app or online.

Lady was a bit rude during boarding and I was being nice to her.

Why does it have to be painful to fly long distances?

It is a modern tragedy that any airline expects you to travel for 14 hours in such discomfort and that the only way to add comfort is exorbitant prices. I was in pain by the time we landed. Shameful.

Original plane sidelined. Had to wait an hour for replacement.

Crew was very cooperative and professional. Passenger's first checked in bag should be free.

No real agent onsite helping you for missing luggage there. Not like the other airline next to UA desk, they have staff attending in their desk assisting answer/helping luggage issue, even after midnight.

The gate crew did try to help, however they lacked the information as to whether the flight will operate or not. Being delayed 6 hours and in a limbo on whether the flight will operate or not is not fun. The airline having staffing issues is not encouraging at all.

Multiple gate changes and significant delay leaving DFW. Made for a late arrival

The flight from DFW to chs was delayed with multiple gate changes.

Our flight was delayed by 18 hours. Poor accommodations made and no apology.

From check-in staff to in-flight staff, everyone was wonderfully kind

What an idiot at the boarding gate. Even flying First she was mean and unpleasant.

I missed this flight due to delays on my previous flight.

This flight was awful all around. Delays on the tarmac at PHL before takeoff and at the tarmac in Chicago caused me to miss my final connection. This was completely avoidable, in my opinion.

The A321(?) model of the flight for 5+hrs has no seat back screens. Getting the american airlines wifi experience to watch movies on your own devices is not the same.

Crew never smiled, never helped , told me to make my own bed ( in Upper class), never offered a drink

I recently flew with Spirit Airlines and had an incredibly disappointing experience. I brought a book bag, which should have easily fit in the overhead compartment, but there was no space left. Instead of offering any assistance or a reasonable solution, the airline made me pay $70 for my book bag. This fee was extremely unreasonable and added unnecessary stress to my travel. To make matters worse, the flight attendant was extremely rude, further souring the entire experience. I had a terrible time and will not be flying with Spirit Airlines again.

Delays delays and more delays in both LAX and San Jose. And then I said something else flight was supposed to arrive in Portland at 12:04 but didn't land until 2:30 PM which made me late for my appointment.

We never made it, see previous reviews. Spirit Airlines employees lack compassion and empathy. No one showed any concern or care for us as customers. When we missed our connecting flight due to Spirit scheduling issues, no one batted an eye or tried to help. The response was to book us on another flight a full 24 hours later. We arrived to our gate and the plane was still there and boarding had not yet been completed. We easily could have been allowed to board had the two flight crews communicated that there were passengers coming off a delayed flight. I understand delays happen and are unpredictable, what I'm disappointed in is the way my partner and I were treated during that whole process. Spirit should be ashamed to treat their customers this way. There's a reason the reputation with this airline is what it is and they aren't doing anything to prove otherwise.

Three out of four legs of my trip were delayed. The last leg of my trip was delayed due to passengers and crew not being ready to take off. The boarding process started way late with no explanation as to why. The flight attendants did not have the passengers in check for takeoff - folks were walking around, trying to change seats, and causing a general disturbance preventing us from departing and the crew did nothing about it. All of this caused us to miss my connection home due to the first flight landing at the same time the second one was due to take off. The entire Spirit crew (except for one flight attendant) was unapologetic and unpleasant about this. No one apologized, no one showed any inkling of empathy whatsoever. The response was basically, "we booked you on the next available flight". That next flight was a full 24 hours later, we would have been stranded in the airport and no one even cared or acknowledged us as customers. I'm disappointed in the lack of compassion shown by Spirit agents and customer service reps as a whole. It felt like we were a burden due to airline scheduling issues. The one flight attendant (did not catch her name, but from (ORD to FLL) was wonderful and empathetic.

I thought people that were clearly intoxicated were not allowed to board flights. But of course they let them and of course they sat directly behind us. Kicking seats being so loud you couldn’t hear yourself think. Cussing loudly telling a woman “she was going to punch her in the fucken face” for accidentally mixing her seat assignment up. These people should have been asked to get off the plane but no flight attendant cared. I don’t think I’ll be using spirit again. Better judgment needs to be used when letting people fly drunk.

Nothing to like about Spirit Airlines when you get to your layover up to for hours late.

We received several notifications of a delay but the flight ended up leaving on time without us even tho we were in the airport eating very close by. We received no notification that the flight moved back to its original time.

The bag drop process took longer than other airlines. The boarding and crew were good. The seats do not recline and have minimal padding. The snacks/drinks are for purchase only. The flight was on time with no issues. I would fly them again if the cost was significantly less.

Crew was excellent. Flight was overbooked No seat assignment until the last moment.

My flight was delayed then cancelled My elder parents were upstairs waiting for a spirit rep to bring them downstairs to where my sister waited for 2 hours. My elder parents are not able to walk . My dad was wet of urine from where he could not hold it .waiting for some spirit personnel to wheel chair them back down stairs to where my sister was waiting for them for two hours . That is not ok
