FAQs - booking Jamaica flights

  • Are there car parking facilities at EWR?

There are three lots at the main terminal parking space for short-term parking, and you can take the AirTrain from her to the terminal. For daily parking, garage P4 should be used. For economy parking, lot P6 should be used. It is about 3 miles from the terminal area with a free shuttle bus service running to Terminals A, B, and C. To get long-term parking, you can book a parking space online with an off-airport parking lot offering free shuttles to the airport.

  • Are there pets allowed through EWR?

With the exception of leashed assistance animals, all other animals are to be kept in a kennel inside the passenger terminal unless they go through security or use the pet relief stations. The outdoor relief areas are located on the west side of terminal A’s courtyard A and to the south of the immigration hall in terminal B. The indoor relief areas are located near gates 57, 65, and 131, at the Delta Lounge, south of FIS Hall, and between gates 40 and 47.

  • Can I access the lounges at Kingston Airport?

The lounges at KIN are open to all passengers looking to relax and unwind away from the hustle of the airport crowds or get some work done. You can access the lounges by paying at the door or using a lounge membership program regardless of the airline or service class flown. The lounges have comfy seats, showers, free snacks, unlimited drinks, and food, among many other different amenities at different lounges. One such lounge is the Club Kingston opposite the arrivals hall exit, Airside.

  • Where can I find car rental companies at KIN?

Getting a rental car is a great idea for travelers in Jamaica as it makes it easier for you to move around, explore and experience the beautiful country. On-site car rental companies are located in the Ground Transportation Hall, where you will find their desks for assistance during pick-up or returns. We recommend you book a car online through the KAYAK website, where you can view and compare cars to make your work easier when you get to Jamaica. The on-site car rental companies include Hertz, Budget, Avis, and Island Car Rental.

Top tips for finding cheap flights to Jamaica

  • Morning departure is around 3% more expensive than an evening flight, on average*.
  • For domestic flights, we recommend you arrive at Newark Liberty Airport (EWR) at least 2 hours before your scheduled departure time, and for international flights, we recommend you arrive at least 3 hours early. You can also sign up for pre-check to avoid the long lines at the airport checkpoints.
  • Cars can't park in front of or beside any terminal at EWR, nor can they be left unattended. Only active pick-up or drop-off is allowed in this area for a few minutes, where passengers being picked up must be at the curbside with all their luggage and ready to leave immediately.
  • Some of the baby care rooms at Newark Liberty airport are located in Terminal A opposite Earl of Sandwich on A2 and at A1 post-security, in Terminal B near Gates 51 and 66 at B2, and Gate B47 on B1, and in Terminal C near Gate C90 on C1, near Gate C104 on C2 and near Gate C123 on C3.
  • When you arrive at Kingston Airport, you can head to currency exchange counters where you can change dollars into Jamaican dollars. The currency exchange counters are located at the Arrivals and Departures Terminals and also in front of airlines' check-in counters.
  • If you have any special needs, it's crucial to inform the airline you will be traveling with so they can arrange how you will be picked up once you land at the airport. Inform the airline 48 hours before your trip due to increased cases that can result in you lacking equipment or services.

Awful. Flight was continuously getting delayed and gates kept changing without any reason. Flight was delayed for more then 3 hours

The plane was FREEZING SEATS UNCOMFORTABLE Otherwise smooth Thank you

I'm a larger, athletic guy (6'2", 260lbs powerlifter) and I found the seats incredibly uncomfortable with minimal leg room, especially in a window seat. Now, I full understand that being smaller may change my view but even if I was 80lbs less, my legs would be the same size and I was sandwiched between my seat and the seat in front of me.

This flight was ridiculous. I had to have a connecting flight from New York to orlando Florida??? The flight left late and because it was a short flight there was no first class amenities. I had one alcohol drink. The flight crew was fine, but it sure did not feel like first class. Delta to me dropped the ball by giving me a connecting flight. By the time we got to Raleigh we would have missed the next flight. Lucky for me the flight never came so now I was stuck waiting for a later flight that came in late also.

Seat back monitors and outlets were dead and not working.

The crew, food, and entertainment were all good. But my screen had some sort of bug where if I turned it off, it would turn back on after 2-5 minutes. At full brightness. It made it very hard to get any shut-eye on the overnight flight. Also, the older Boeing plane, while nicely cared for (and no doors fell off 😅👏) doesn't have the nice air quality of newer planes. So I felt a bit greasy by the time we landed in Sweden.

Service was good for such a short flight. Small plane but smooth flight.

The flight was delayed but we got to our final destination.

Uncomfortable seats on 14 hour flight. Mediocre food. On time and great crew.

The helpful attitude of the staff, and being a wheelchair passenger everyone was helpful and understanding. The trip was made comfortable by the upgraded seat which was given without my request, that was a great surprise. Thank you Delta.

The flight was excellent. The crew was welcoming and attentive.

Going through JFK’s security is a mess. The TSA security said no shoes on the bins. So, we place our shoes in the belt and they came out all over the belt. Boarding was delayed and Flight as well.

Safe and on time were the positives. The plane wasn't cleaned before boarding, there was garbage and food on the floor and in the seat pocket. The TV screen was small and the picture fuzzy, audio quality was poor. Seatbelt was fraying and seat did not recline properly. No charging ports near the seats,

There were multiple delays but JetBlue tried to make the boarding and departure process as quick and efficient as possible. The crew was as detached from reality as could be, meaning: not very friendly and just doing things by the numbers.

Jetblue needs to improve on Onboarding as it seems to always be behind on departing. It never leaves on time. I would recommend to have an earlier Onboarding in order to leave on time and respect your customers time as well.

40 minute delay before take off after boarding flight. Bright lights throughout night flight due Issues with light panels. In flight Entertainment nonfunctional

I booked this flight using JetBlue points and I was just so happy. The plane was so clean, I had every need met. Thank you!!

Another horrible Jet Blue experience. This airline has suffered the biggest decline of all from best to worst. TVs didn’t work (again). internet was temperamental. Boarded late and couldn’t get organized to serve snacks.

I hate their constant delays! It’s as if I cannot confidently make plans for timing when I'm traveling with them. I slept through it, so all I can say is it was good.

The staff at JFK were rude and unhelpful. I was harassed for the same bag that I used on my flight to jfk with no issues claiming it was the inappropriate size. The women then allowed my travel companion to board with the same size bag because they thought she was more “humble”. Also on the flight when informing the flight attendant that nationals no longer have to fill out the Bahamas immigration form my statement was met with eye rolling and attitude.

Original plane sidelined. Had to wait an hour for replacement.

Fantastic. Smooth boarding with an infant. Never experienced it with any other carriers.

An hour and a half late is UNACCEPTABLE. The negative impact to our family is unconscionable. And for the price we were forced to pay...

Flight was delayed 2.5 hours - a big deal on an overnight when you plan to sleep.

I feel like they have upgraded the app since I last flew United and I found it to be super helpful. I had stopped flying United unless absolutely necessary and my experience on this trip indicates they have been working hard to improve their services.

flight delays, staff only communicating when pushed, food service lasting a grand total of 7 minutes, stuck in seat from 45mins into flight until landing

Nice flight, nice crew but no cookie or napkin with my seltzer.

The flight was canceled. Got rebooked to Chicago and when we arrived our luggage where to there. They were going to our original destination the day after. They would not deliver them to our house. We had to go pick them up.

EWR terminal C United Club is great. Flight and everything else mediocre

737 Max was leaking water into the cabin through the windows. Overhead bins opened on landing. Bad bad plane.

The preferred seats where awful. Impossible to use them again

Delayed multiple times. Boarding was ok but getting off the aircraft was a mess. So disorganized with staff trying to help the elderly but completely blocking path for anyone else to move. Bathroom was disgusting, probably caused by one of the customers but staff couldn't care less to help clean it. No one wanted to use it since the floor was completely soaked so everyone just lined up the other restroom while the staff just chit chat with each other while looking at us.

I was in business class. There was an excellent headset. But half an hour before arrival they collected them! The rest of the trip I had to use a cheap earphone. There must be a better way to protect the headphones.

WiFi connected but only let you go to the AA website, not even text messaging worked.

I think the seats on some of their planes are uncomfortable. You can be ok on a short flight of two hours but no more than that. The delays, and also the refreshments on the plane were not enough.

Awful customer service on the phone. No phone number on the website to call a real person. Website says changes are no charge but this is a lie. I had a cheaper ticket through Kayak therefore Finnair wouldn’t change it unless I would pay the entire fare again. I begged but their agents at the airport were rude and the online chat person cut off the call with no help. Super disappointed. Wont fly this airline again and will tell everyone I meet how bad it is. Crew on the flight was nice but otherwise huge disappointment.

Generally good but we were delayed almost two hours from the original time of purchase. The pilot claimed an internal issue then an external equipment issue that needed to be adddressed. He made up a lot of the time.

The flight was excellent, provided that we had inclement weather. We departed earlier than scheduled and arrived early. There was a little turbulence, but nothing to be worried about.

It was less than what is expected for a business class ticket I thought that the staff actively ignored me because I either looked Indian or Hispanic to them and I guess I did not deserve their attention. The food which included a beef entree was not available so not enough food was ordered for number of seats available. I will say experience in Greenwich lounge was very good and the staff there at the airport were very nice. May be your crew needs to learn about racial equity so that everyone gets either the same aweful treatment or hopefully the best treatment which is what we expect I recommend you take a flight with Singapore airlines that I have taken and the crew remember your last names and use it to address each person, food never finishes if you are at the back of business class and crew anticipate your need even before you articulate. Same price and 100 times better service than American Airlines

pleased with overall experienced, but seats in coach are tight.

This recognisable no-frills airline gets me from point-A to point-B. I was able to get to Chicago without stress. The checked baggage collection and reclaim could be improved.

Pretty good. Would’ve been excellent if we would have left on time and the crew wasn’t late.

Spirit airline tries to screw you at every opportunity. Spirit wanted 65$ for an extra pound in the suitcase Made me open the suitcase at the counter to remove 1 pound. Staff very cold and rude Will never fly spirit again and will recommend same to family and friends

Overall it was a good experience. Stewards were very kind and professional. The departure and arrival times were as promised. Plane was clean.

No frills, limited comfort, no food, no entertainment, but fine

The airplane was extremely hot the air conditioner wasn’t working I

Seats horrible. No way of getting comfortable . But flight ran smoothly

Every thing was fine ,low price, easy on time ,clean, good staff, really no issues

Unfortunately not great, my flight was canceled with no notice given. I attempted to reach out to spirit airlines and have yet to receive any correspondence. I then had to book a new flight at two times the cost of the original.

The price is good but I feel that carry-on bag could be a little low and snacks prices
