Pros. Perfect location: in the heart of thngs, yet quiet. Room (on 3rd floor, #24 I think) had 3 windows so room was full of natural light and had partial views of interesting architecture. Loved the room. Good sized room with windows that open for fresh air. Frienndly staff.
Cons. Slowest elevator ever (not a big issue) and only goes part of way to main floor. No staff around early if you need help with bags. In hot weather room might be a problem (as others note). Said they answered my inquiries but I never found them on booking.com. Responding to my concern from others that room would be too hot, said the room would have windows that open, a fan, and a/c. First was true, no fan, and a/c had "not working" sign on it. If weather outside had been hot (it wasn't), this might have been a problem. No breakfast or restaurant. Need to eat out. There are plenty of restaurants nearby (one with same ownership next door) but hard to find healthful choices in French area (and Brussels strikes me as much more French than Dutch in language and manners). Healthful food available in special shops/restaurants, but mainstream Brussels food is kind of astoundingly high-cholesterol.
Pros. Almost everything: it's really close to the train station, very close to Grand Place, close to everything you want to see. The building is very clean and modern. Staff are great.
Cons. What a tiny, tiny room, even for Europe. You have to climb some very steep and narrow stairs to get upstairs. It's not suitable for someone with large suitcases, neither the trip up and down the stairs nor the ability to keep large suitcases in the room (much less unpack them!). The large bed was just two twin beds pushed together, and they moved easily, so beware falling into the gap.
Pros. Close to central station and Grande Place, good for a day or two.
Cons. Square outside can be noisy during the day and ealry evening, but OK for sleeping after 9 pm.
