Pros:Car itself was okay
Cons:I arrived at the counter in Cancun with my pre-paid reservation and confirmation number. Immediately I was told that there was nothing in my class available and that I would need to pay for an upgrade at an additional $1,200 USD. After I refused and asked for a refund for my reservation, they came down to $1000 upgrade for the same car. This was happening to everyone at this hertz location. After i refused the upgrade again, I was told I could rent a car in the original class i reserved for an additional $60/day ($360 on top of my original $230 price I reserved.) I thought they didn't have any cars in my class...? Being that at this point there were no other options, I was forced to take the deal even though I knew I was being scammed. I'm never one to write poor reviews but I think hertz should know what is going on at their location at Cancun international airport. Thanks!
Pros:Nothing
Cons:Everything the car sat in their parking lot less than a day waiting but but price went from $500 to $1,400. Verifiable airline screw up but our family of six including 89 year old grandpa had to negotiate public transportation. Will NEVER use Hertz again. All other companies understood and were very gracious but not hertz attitude was very unacceptable.
Pros:Great price as they offered us one big van in exchange for the 2 cars we rented for just a little more. We all could be in one car which was really nice
Cons:We had some issues with the latch in the back closing but we were able to adjust to make it work.
Worst rental ever. Terrible service. Ended up stranded with no car and wasted hours. Never again.
Cons:The mandatory insurance fee is crazy: higher price per day than the cost for the car itself + taxes. I looked at the rental terms at the time of booking in Kayak so I knew I needed to get mandatory insurance, but I could not find an expected price range anywhere. Can you include this info during the booking process in the future please? The return process was a pain. My reservation had the wrong time because that particular branch actually closes earlier. Also, I actually had to return to a slightly different branch which is nearby because the one at the ferry terminal in Playa del Carmen does not have a parking spot for returns. Can you add a booking note in your instructions/notes for future travelers?
Cons:Location was a small stall in downtown. I was an hour late in reaching and the guy told me that we didn't save your car for you. Only thing available now are expensive cars which are $300 per day. My 4 day rental was $150 total.
Poor service.
Cons:They change in the last moment the car I did choose I got car without power steering. It was nightmare to drive such little car without that future
Pros:drop off was pretty easy. we had to pay for an expedited return, so it was pretty good
Cons:rental car location was packed!!!! we had to stand in line for over an hour and they only had 4 representatives. when we got to the representative he told us that December and January were their busiest months. why aren't they prepared when they know they are going to be really busy? bad service
Pros:pick up was easy and straightforward, care was in good-condition it was expensive, but we had done research before and new extra charges were coming
Cons:drop-off was slow with a long line; stressful when trying to make a plane!
